Privacy policy
We'll keep this short and honest: here's what hittegods.dk collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
Your email, if you join the waitlist. Name, city, and optionally a link, note, and email, if you suggest a venue we're missing. Category, optional name and email, and your message, if you write to us via the contact form.
When you register a lost or found item, we store what you fill in yourself: category, description, colour, brand, place and time — and your contact details (email and/or phone number). Contact details are never shown publicly and are only shared with the other party if both finder and owner actively say yes.
If you upload a photo, we automatically remove hidden camera data (EXIF and GPS) before it is shown. The original photo is stored out of public reach. The withheld identifier you describe is encrypted and never shown to anyone — including us. It is only used to compare answers inside the database.
If you simply tell us you handed an item in somewhere, we store no personal information at all — only an anonymous count.
If you claim an item, we store your answers, the number of attempts, and the result. If you use "Suspected stolen?", we store the police report number you provide — it is never shown publicly.
We also store the consents you give, with the exact wording you saw — and which emails we have sent you, so you never receive the same reminder twice.
Your browser remembers your own registration, so you can return to it, and — for our administrator — a login. Neither is used for tracking or marketing.
Why we collect it
The waitlist is used only to notify you when we launch new features. Venue suggestions are used to expand and correct our directory. Contact messages are used to reply to you and improve the site. When you register an item, we use your information to find possible matches and notify you when there is news in your case.
Where it's stored
All information is stored with Supabase in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone other than the data processors named below — or the other party in a reunion, when you have given permission yourself.
Who processes your information for us
Supabase (EU, Frankfurt) stores everything the site keeps. Resend sends the emails you asked for yourself — a receipt for a registration, for example. Resend receives only your email address and the contents of that one email, and the address is not used for anything else. Cloudflare helps us tell people from robots when you submit a form — Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical signals from your browser, never the contents of what you write. We have no other data processors.
Marketing
We never use your email for marketing without your explicit consent. Waitlist and contact emails are only about what you asked for.
Your right to deletion
Write to us via the contact form if you'd like your information corrected or deleted. We don't publish an email address, but we answer every message sent through the form.
Cookies & tracking
hittegods.dk currently uses no tracking or marketing cookies.
